Overcoming Fear with a Happy Thought

Overcoming Fear by Substituting a Happy Thought Hello, this is a continuation of a series that I've been doing on how to deal with fear that might be controlling you. In particular we're looking at how fear might control you in your pursuit of creating a home-based business, but certainly we have fears that, at times, control every part of our life. What we learn about in dealing with the fears that pertain to creating a home business will apply to many of the other areas of life. So one of the things I want to make sure is that I don't leave the impression that there's a permanent cure for fear, because there isn't. It is a normal feeling, but for some people there is no question that the fear in their life is controlling them more than it ought to. And if that person is you, and you want to break free to do the things that are real goals in your life, then you have to figure out a way to overcome the fear. These strategies that I have sharing have worked for me and for others, and so I'll share with you the ways that you can get more control of this area in your life. Now for this particular strategy today, we're going to be learning how to substitute a thought and a feeling in place of the fear and to use that as a way of focusing to bring a completely different sense to the experience. So the goal with this strategy is to do what you're doing with a smile on your face. Now, what we want as a secondary goal is that this is a genuine smile, meaning that it comes from a genuine feeling that would support a smile. So we're not looking for a plastic smile on top of a fearful face. We're looking for a smile that comes from something funny going on in your mind. For this strategy to work, I want you to come up with two or three scenes that will always strike a smile, either internally for you or on your face, whenever you think about them. There are a few things that come to my mind; for instance, whenever I think about them, I start to smile. And it may be totally unrelated to whatever the circumstances are that I'm in, but I still will start to smile. Now I want you to come up with two or three of these things. I'm asking you to think of things that are funny, not things that are peaceful. We're looking for a different emotion here. Now I want you to remember the image, get into the scene completely, feel what it felt like, and smile a big smile on your face as you remember that scene. And just keep thinking of that scene, keep feeling that feeling, and now transfer all of that, even as you're thinking it, feeling it, to the situation that's making you feel afraid. So what you're going to try to do in this is to overlay this funny scene on top of the scene that is making you feel afraid. So you're going to actually be seeing two things at once, in a sense. It's like you took a semi-clear picture, and you put it over the real picture so that you could see them both at the same time. And that's what you're trying to do in your mind with this strategy. So you're focusing on this little thing that makes you smile, and you're focusing on the thing that usually makes you feel afraid at the same time. And what will happen is that you'll have this sort of a flicker of a smile as you're considering doing whatever that activity might be. And that might be picking up the phone and calling someone you're afraid to call; it might be talking to someone you're afraid to talk to; it might be doing some new task that you just have put off because it seems too daunting, and once you overlay this feeling of happiness with a smile on top of it, it completely changes the nature of what you're experiencing. It will be much easier to proceed with what you plan to do. Now, I suggest that you have two or three of these scenes that you will sort of cycle through to have in mind, to kind of pull out like a tool chest, and it's important that you develop the habit of doing this strategy if you want it to "work" when you need it. Whenever you feel the feeling of fear, overlay something that makes you laugh on top of that feeling of fear. Most of the time, what we're afraid of isn't real anyway. So it's not like we're trying to make something unreal out of something that's real. Usually, what we're afraid of isn't going to happen; as I said it's not real anyway but our focusing on it makes it real, so we're just laying something on top of it to give us a completely different perspective. And that something on top of it is a real event in your life, something that you remember reading, seeing, or doing that made you smile. And as you do this, I promise you that your feeling of fear will be less intense and may actually completely go away as you focus on this thing that made you smile in the first place. So it's important that you practice this. This doesn't happen automatically until you've practiced it a lot. My suggestion is that you practice it daily, multiple times a day, for at least a month. Then it will start to become an ingrained strategy that you can pull out whenever you're starting to feel that fear is holding you back from doing what you should do. I know this will help you if you do it. I wish you success in your whole life, and specifically success in your business. God bless you, and have a great day. Fear is Usually Not Real

How Most Fear is Unreal Hi, I'm hoping you are having a good day. Today I would like to continue in the series about conquering fear, particularly as it is applicable to developing a home based business, but also as it is applicable to any other area of your life. So with the concepts I'm going to be sharing with you, you'll be able to be effective in all of the circumstances of your life. One of the areas that I know is vital to do is to discern how we"rehearse" fear. Many folks spend a lot of time making up scenarios in our minds. What we do in our minds is not that much different from a TV show, or nearer to a soap, where there's plenty of emotion going on. We're characters and at the same time we're imagining. Actually, this scene  hasn't occurred. We just are making it up because of some event that is happened in our lives. And I call this"rehearsing fear." What's going on is that we are actually making up a scene that is related to circumstances that we are fearful of, and then we actually react emotionally to those scenes. And that actuallythen increases our fear. One of my favourite Scriptures is where Jesus says to"Be not afraid." I believe this is a vital point because He doesn't say, "Do not have fear." He says"Be not afraid," meaning"Don't do things to raise your fear. Don't be in the state of fear. Don't dwell there mentally." All of us are going to have the sensation of fear occasionally, but we do not have to dwell there. There are things that we are able to do to help us not be afraid. So one of the things that we can start to do is to put other ideas into our minds. I will teach you a example of the easiest way to make that transition from fearful thoughts to other thoughts. One of the things that I think is crucial is that we need to learn to recognise the moment that we start to create these fearful scenarioes. I have counselled people over the years, and it sometimes takes a couple minutes before they notice that they're into this other scene that actually isn't true; they are just making it up. And so what we need to learn to do is become aware of the moment that we are into this scene of fearful stuff, whether it applies to your family life or your friendships or business. The moment that you're thinking about stuff that actually hasn't come true, you're imagining some eventuality in the future. Nipping it in the bud is truly vital, and at that moment, you may then begin to fill your consciousness with thoughts of thanksgiving. You will be able to nip the fear in the bud. It just will not continue, as you can't concentrate on both things at the same time. Discover more of how to build a home business. Hello, this is a continuation of a series that I've been doing on how to deal with fear that might be controlling you. In particular we're looking at how fear might control you in your pursuit of creating a home-based business, but certainly we have fears that control every part of our life at times, and the things we learn about how to deal with the fears that pertain to creating a home business will apply to many of the other areas of life. It is a normal feeling, but for some people there is no question that the fear in their life is controlling them more than it ought to. And if that person is you, and you want to break free to do the things that are real goals in your life, then you have to figure out a way to overcome the fear. These strategies have worked for me and for others, and so I'll share with you the ways that you can get a hold of this area in your life. Today we'll be learning a strategy to substitute your thought of fear with one that makes you smile. The goal is to do whatever it is you're doing with a smile: not a fake smile, but a real one that comes from a real feeling that makes you happy. Not a smile that's just there to cover up your feelings, but a smile that comes from your feelings. So for this strategy to work, I want you to come up with two or three scenes that will always strike a smile, either internally for you or on your face, whenever you think about them. What you want to do is to overlay this image on the one that makes you afraid, so that you're actually seeing and focusing on two things at once. Consequently you'll have this little smile, you'll actually be feeling happy, as you're considering whatever it is that you're afraid of. Whether this is calling someone you're afraid to call, talking to someone you're afraid to talk to, or doing something you're afraid to try, this overlaid image will change the nature of the thing you're dealing with and will make it easier for you. You should have two or three such images that you can go over in your mind and use when you feel afraid. When you do feel fear, just take out one of those funny scenes. By doing this, you're not making something real into something unreal. Most of the time we're afraid of something that doesn't exist, so what we're actually doing is overlaying something unreal with a real image. And when you do this, your feeling of fear will become less, and it may even go away altogether as you focus on the thing that made you smile. This is important to practice. Without practice, it won't happen automatically. I recommend practicing it multiple times every day for at least a month. After that it'll be more of an ingrained strategy which you can use when you feel afraid. I hope this is helpful and I look forward to talking to you more in the future. I wish you success in your life, especially in your home business. God bless you, and have a good day. This is a follow-up artical about fear and how it affects in a negative way the achieving of life goals such as the goal of setting up a home business. In my last video I recommended going through the process of discovering our fears in order to do something to decrease them. I will now go over the three major steps you need to go through in order to conquer your own fear, and in the future I'll go into more detail. The first step is to learn how to deal with the fear we are experiencing, to "heal" it. Secondly we must learn how not to feed the fear. And the third step is to provide information to help overcome that fear by discovering the full truth about it. The first step is dealing with existing fear, and the first thing to do in this area is to discover what it is and admit its existence, and after that to discover ways to decrease the energy of the fear. In doing so I don't want you to focus a lot on the fear, but you do need to look at it enough to admit that it's there. In the future I'll show you some ways to decrease the energy of that fear. In the second area of not feeding the fear, I'm going to teach you some ways that you can learn to focus your attention on other life events that are healthy, can actually help you pursue your goals more effectively, and make you into a more complete person. Finally, in the "providing information" part, I'll go over one of the fears that is most paralyzing: the fear of death. For example, suppose someone has died and has come back to life, as many people have written about doing. That person no longer fears dying because he's seen what he was once afraid of--he's been on the other side; he now has new information. This strategy also pertains to developing a home business; many people are afraid to do a home business because they fear failure and rejection-- they haven't seen "the other side" so they guess at what it is like, and they fear it. But if I could show you how to find every person, organization, team, and tool you needed in order to get your business going, and if you believed me, I think you would no longer be afraid of starting that business because you would now have the information you needed. It was the lack of knowledge that would have made you afraid. So in the future, I'll talk about how to find all the people and tools you need to have a successful business without rejection. I expect you won't be afraid to start your business and you'll be able to get beyond your comfort zone. We're not talking about getting rid of all fear, because that's impossible. However, there are great stories of how some of the most courageous people have had great fear but moved on in spite of it--- you can be one of those stories. Courage then is the last topic of this article. Courage is moving forward in spite of fear. What we want to do is decrease the fear as much as possible so that it's not in the way unnecessarily, but in the end there is often going to be some fear. Some people have said that courage is fear that has said its prayers. I like that as a way of focusing on the ultimate solution for dealing with this fear. But in the end, you have to take courage and take action, so we're going to as a final strategy focus (in the future) on how to take small steps-to take courageous but small steps to overcome any remaining fears after we've already gone over the other steps that I've already explained. So I hope you have found some benefit in looking at fear in this way, and it's a hope that you're going to be able to overcome it using the information I am going to be giving you in future videos and blog formats. So I wish you well, God bless, and have a great day. Looking to find the best way to overcome a lack of leads for your business creating 30 Leads a day, and learn how to generate 30+ leads a day.
